Stoves
With so many wood burning stove brands all with different models on the market, picking a stove can become a confusing decision. To narrow your search down there is generally three styles of stove to consider. Traditional, Contemporary or free standing. Although all stoves do the same job, the differences lie in the appearance and design of the stoves.
The styles are described below as well as recommendations of stoves I regularly Install, as well as the recommended stoves we can supply and install any brand or model of stove on the market. However we are also happy to offer an installation only service, should you wish to source your own wood burner.
Traditional stoves
If your ideal visions of a wood burning stove conjure up a rustic cottage, then you may be tempted by traditional stoves. These are reminiscent of the past but feature a modern twist in terms of technology and heat efficiency ratings. Traditional stoves tend to have more curves and decorative arches compared to the sharp square edges of contemporary stoves.
Contemporary
Contemporary stoves look clean and sleek, More square in shape than traditional stoves, their minimal appearance lets the flames do the talking through their large windows for viewing the flames.Whilst some have side windows as well as the front window, Some brands even offer models with optional glass doors, Some modern stoves resemble updated versions of traditional wood burners, so there really is something for everyone. If your decor and furnishings are modern and streamlined in style, the cleaner lines of a contemporary stove could be the right choice for you.
Free standing stoves
Freestanding stoves are generally installed along with twin wall flue systems, they are designed with small minimum distances to combustibles which makes them ideal for installing in extensions or properties without a masonry chimney. Due to their scandinavian origin most tend to be wood burning only.
Usually standing on a log store they are much taller than stoves that would usually sit inside a chimney breast. The stoves themselves are the focal point With striking, cylindrical designs and large windows.
