ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Matthew Kellett, and my career in the fireplace industry began straight after leaving school when I started as an apprentice at Twentieth Century Fireplaces in Manchester.

During my apprenticeship, I learned the art of slabbing, crafting bespoke tiled fireplaces and hearths, while also restoring original marble and cast-iron fireplaces, many of which were sold around the world. Bringing these antique pieces back to life gave me a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship and attention to detail that went into creating them.

After years of experience in the trade, I established The Stove & Stone Co., offering a complete design, supply and installation service and taking care of every aspect of the project. From the initial survey to the final installation and handover, I personally oversee every stage of the process to ensure the highest standards of workmanship and customer care.

More than twenty years later, my philosophy remains the same: quality over quantity.

All work is fully insured and HETAS certified, giving you complete peace of mind that your installation meets current regulations and safety standards.
